Pinkston Out For Year
Philadelphia Eagles WR Todd Pinkston ruptured an
Achilles'
tendon
in practice Friday and will be out for the entire
2005-2006 Season.
Originally Lewis was
slated to take over for Freddie Mitchell as the Eagles
third WR.
However due
to Pinkston's injury, Head Coach Andy Reid said third
year WR Greg Lewis will move
into Pinkston's spot on the first team.
"Todd
is one of the closest friends I have on the team, and I
feel bad for
him for all the
work he's put in this offseason,'' Lewis said. "But
injuries take place in this game, and the team has to
get in there. Somebody has
to step up and
make plays.''
"I've always been
confident in myself," Lewis said. "I feel I'm
capable of going out there
and making plays. You're not going
to do it everytime, but when your numbers called, you
have to go out there and make that play.
"Last year I was given
a few opportunities, and I made the most of them. I'm
looking forward to doing the same this year."
No doubt about it, #83
is ready. |
